[Mental Health concerns] Convict removed from solitary confinement after Bombay High Court order

The order was passed on a plea by the convict's wife alleging that her husband was in solitary confinement for 2 years and 4 months though statutorily permissible time limit for solitary confinement is 14 days.

A convict in an Aurangabad prison, who was in solitary confinement for over two years, has been moved to a regular cell after the Aurangabad Bench of Bombay High Court ordered a judicial and medical enquiry into the mental health condition of the convict [Shaikh Ruheena v. State of Maharashtra & Ors.].
