The Union of India represented by its Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) have filed two counter-affidavits before the Madras High Court defending the validity of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (IT Rules, 2021).
