[Motor Accident case] Money cannot repair physical frame of disabled person: Bombay High Court

Single-judge Justice Urmila Joshi-Phalke reasoned that the compensation paid to a person injured in an accident, is to make up for the inability to lead a full life and earn as much as one used to before such accident.

Money cannot repair the physical frame of a person disabled in an accident, the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court recently observed while upholding the compensation of ₹3.40 lakh awarded to a man whose right arm was amputated after a motor vehicle accident [United India Insurance Company Ltd. v. Toufic Ahemed & Anr.].
