Mumbai police withdraws criminal complaint against 36 who protested JNU attack in 2020

The prosecution told the court that it did not want to proceed with the case since there was no loss of life or loss to public property due to the protests, and since the alleged acts were social and political in nature

The Mumbai police recently withdrew a case filed in 2020 against 36 people, including activists and lawyers, for protesting at the Gateway of India, Mumbai against an attack on students at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi.
