NSA invoked against Manish Kashyap for fabricating videos to perpetuate communal hatred: Tamil Nadu to Supreme Court

The State of Tamil Nadu told the Supreme Court on Friday that Youtuber Manish Kashyap, accused of sharing fake news about migrant workers, facilitated fabrication of videos and utilised them to perpetrate communal hatred. .The State government's reply is to be filed shortly before the top cour in light of an order passed by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha seeking a response as to why the National Security Act (NSA) has been invoked against Kashyap. .State has submitted that neither the First Information Reports (FIRs) nor the NSA charge could be quashed since Kashyap doctored videos and used them as background clips while stating that migrants were beaten up and killed in Tamil Nadu.Additionally, it was stated that when he visited Tamil Nadu, he put rhetorical questions to migrants only to spread disharmony, with a clear view to perpetuate hatred..The plea filed by Kashyap sought clubbing of FIRs against him in Bihar and Tamil Nadu. He also sought interim anticipatory bail.He is currently in custody of the Tamil Nadu Police for sharing a fake video regarding the alleged attack on migrant workers from Bihar. The police had taken him in for questioning after getting a remand order from a Madurai court.Earlier this month, the top court sought responses from the Central government and the States of Bihar and Tamil Nadu on the plea..Previously, the apex court had allowed Kashyap to amend his plea to challenge the invocation of the NSA and indicated its inclination to transfer all the cases to Bihar."We will issue notice on quashing of prosecution...but we will transfer all the case to Bihar," the Court said.The Court further directed that Kashyap remain in Madurai Central Jail until the next hearing..During the hearing, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for the Tamil Nadu government, said that Kashyap has 60 lakh followers and was uploading completely fake videos online.Sibal also submitted that Kashyap went to Tamil Nadu and fabricated information."Now he has gone to Tamil Nadu and said that how Tamil People are killing Biharis. He has gone there are interviewed people. He has contested elections...He has gone to Tamil Nadu taken videos and then fabricated all of this," he argued.
