Lawyers across Rajasthan on Monday abstained from court work to protest the brutal murder of an advocate in full public view on Saturday evening..President of the Rajasthan High Court Bar Association (RHCBA), Jaipur Bench Mahendra Shandilya told Bar & Bench that the lawyers would observe a one-day protest. "...to protest the brutal murder of our brother Advocate Jugraj Chauhan and demand for the Advocate Protection Act, all our members shall abstain from judicial work on Monday. RHCBA raises dire need of Advocates Protection Act," he said. .The RHCBA has also resolved to depute proxy counsel to seek adjournment in all courts, so as to ensure that the courts and litigants do not face any kind of inconvenience as a result of the protest. .Advocate Chauhan was killed in broad daylight when he was on his way to his home in Mandir Wala Mohalla, Jodhpur. The two assailants - Anil and Mukesh, who have since been arrested - assaulted him with a knife and crushed his head with a stone on a busy road.
