[Richa Chadha's defamation suit] Bombay HC asks Richa and Payal to give settlement another chance, extends previous interim injunction

The Bombay High Court today asked the lawyers appearing for Richa Chadha and Payal Ghosh to consider giving settlement talks another chance, while hearing the defamation suit filed by Richa against Payal, Kamaal R Khan, news channel ABN Andhrajyothy and orders.

Richa Chadha had filed the suit after Payal Ghosh mentioned her name in allegations of sexual assault by Bollywood film director Anurag Kashyap. Payal's statements were later broadcasted by Kamaal R Khan and the news channel.

Justice AK Menon added that if the parties do not reached a settlement by the next hearing, the matter will be heard on merits.
