The Supreme Court is presently hearing an plea by the Maharshtra State Government against the Bombay High Court's Order suspending two FIRs filed against Republic TV Editor-In-Chief Arnab Goswami.

The FIRs were filed in relation to statements made against Congress President Sonia Gandhi and also ‘communalising‘ a gathering of migrant workers in Bandra, Mumbai.

A Bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde, Justices DY Chandrachud, and L Nageswara Rao is hearing the petition.
