Supreme Court Collegium recommends appointment of four lawyers as judges of Karnataka High Court

As on October 1, 2021, the Karnataka High Court is functioning with 45 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 62, a vacancy position of 17.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of four lawyers as judges of Karnataka High Court.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Collegium held on October 6.

The four lawyers recommended for appointment to the Bench are:

1. Anant Ramanath Hegde;

2. Cheppudira Monnappa Poonacha;

3. Siddaiah Rachaiah;

4. Kannankuzhyil Sreedharan Hemalekha.
