[Breaking] SC Collegium recommends elevation of Justices S Muralidhar, Hima Kohli as Chief Justices of Orissa and Telangana High Courts

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of Dr. S Muralidhar as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court and Justice Hima Kohli as Chief Justice of Telangana High Court.

Both Justice Muralidhar and Justice Hima Kohli are from Delhi High Court.

Justice Muralidhar, whose parent High Court is Delhi, was transferred to Punjab & Haryana High Court in February 2020 where he is currently functioning as a puisne judge. Justice Muralidhar began his law practice in Chennai in 1984 before he shifted to Delhi in 1987. He became a judge of the Delhi High Court in 2006.

Breaking: Centre notifies transfer of Justice S Muralidhar to Punjab & Haryana High Court

Justice Kohli enrolled at the Bar in 1984 and was appointed additional judge of Delhi High Court on 2006. She became a permanent judge in 2007.

The decision to elevate the two judges as Chief Justices was taken at a meeting of the Collegium held on December 14.
