[BREAKING] Supreme Court dismisses plea seeking deletion of certain verses from the Quran, imposes costs of Rs. 50,000 on petitioner

The petitioner Syed Waseem Rizvi, a former chairperson of Shia Waqf Board of Uttar Pradesh had sought deletion of the verse alleging that they promote extremism and are against the law of the land.

The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) petition which sought deletion of certain verses from the Holy Quran alleging that they violate the law of the land and promote extremism (Syed Waseem Rizvi v. Union of India).
