The Supreme Court on Monday launched the 'one case one data' initiative, a digital case management project that will link judicial data across every tier of the court system, from the apex court down to taluka courts.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant, while sitting with Justice Joymalya Bagchi in the morning session on Monday, made the announcement before the Bench took up the day's matters.
"This initiative is to strengthen this court's case management system through a multi-level integration with the database of High Courts, district courts, and the government. First time it's happening that the entire data will be now integrated and while sitting in Supreme Court, we'll have all complete details up to the district court and taluka courts and, similarly, taluka courts will also have all the connectivity here," the CJI said.
The system will automate data retrieval from court databases and allow quick online verification of case records across forums. High Courts and government departments will also be given reciprocal access to case information where required.
"This new module will automate data retrieval from the concerned courts' database and facilitate swift online verification of case-related information. Reciprocal access of case information shall also be provided to High Courts and Government departments as and when required. This would ensure data integrity, enhance accuracy, and transparency," the CJI added.
The top court also unveiled 'Su-Sahayak', an assistive chatbot built by the National Informatics Centre in collaboration with the Supreme Court Registry. The chatbot shall appear on the official Supreme Court website and help litigants and lawyers access case-related information and navigate court services.
Chief Justice Kant credited the Registry and members of the Bar for the work behind both launches, expressing confidence that the initiatives would benefit all stakeholders.
