Supreme Court notifies new roster; CJI SA Bobde will continue to hear Election, Habeas Corpus matters
Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman would also be a part of 13 subject matters including family law cases.
The Supreme Court on Monday notified the new roster governing allocation of cases to different Benches of the top court.
The new roster remains unchanged from the previous one notified in October 2020 with election and Habeas Corpus matters continuing to fall within the domain of Chief Justice of India, SA Bobde.
Public Interest Litigation petitions and social justice matters will be heard by Benches headed by CJI, Justices NV Ramana, Rohinton Fali Nariman, UU Lalit, AM Khanwilkar, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and L Nageswara Rao.
The second senior most judge, Justice NV Ramana is slated to hear 12 categories of matters ranging from arbitration matters and civil cases to admiralty and maritime matters.
Thirteen subject categories have been allotted to Justice Rohinton Nariman including company law, SEBI, banking and TRAI cases.
