Supreme Court stays trial against CT Ravi over obscene remark against Congress minister

Karnataka High Court earlier this month ruled that such remarks or actions would not be protected by a legislator's immunity from criminal prosecution for remarks made on the floor of a legislative house.

The Supreme Court on Monday stayed trial proceedings against BJP leader and Member of Legislative Council (MLC) CT Ravi in the case accusing him of making an obscene remark against Karnataka Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar on the floor of the Legislative Council.
