Public service recruitments must command public confidence: Supreme Court upholds decision to cancel Delhi Subordinate Services Board Selection

"Recruitment to public services must command public confidence. Persons who are recruited are intended to fulfil public functions associated with the functioning of the Government", the Court noted.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the Delhi government's 2016 decision to cancel the selection process held between 2014-15 by the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board given the systemic irregularities found in the process (Sachin Kumar & Ors. v. Delhi Subordinate Service Selection Board (DSSSB) & Ors).
