"This is an interesting case:" Supreme Court on challenge to Section 15 of Hindu Succession Act

The provision has been assailed on the ground that it discriminates when it comes to the devolution of property in case of a woman dying intestate as against devolution of property of a man dying intestate

The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted the Central government three weeks to file its counter affidavit in a plea challenging the validity of Section 15 of the Hindu Succession Act, 1956 [Kamal Anant Khopkar Versus Union of India & Anr.].
