Bombay High Court grants Varavara Rao interim bail on medical grounds in 2016 Surajgarh arson case

In December 2016, around 80 vehicles engaged in transporting iron-ore from Surajgarh mines in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra were allegedly set on fire by Maoists. Rao was arrested in connection with this case in 2019.

The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has granted interim bail to Telugu poet and activist Dr. Varavara Rao in connection with the Surjagarh iron-ore mine arson case of 2016.
