Madhya Pradesh High Court has disposed of a total of 51,565 cases since January 2021

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has stated that since January 2021, it has disposed a total of 51,565 cases. .A press note issued by the High Court also notified the bench-wise disposal of these 51,565 cases."...out of which 23,172 cases were disposed of at Principal Seat Jabalpur, 13,060 cases were disposed of at Indore Bench and 15,333 cases were disposed of at Gwalior Bench.".While highlighting the increase in pendency of cases, the note states that the number of bail applications pending at the Principal Seat in Jabalpur had increased. Hence, the judges sitting at the Gwalior Bench were assigned some of these cases through video conferencing."Similarly, Division Benches functioning at Principal Seat Jabalpur, Bench at Indore and Bench at Gwalior were also assigned hearing of those matters, through Video Conferencing, which were filed at other Benches," reads the press note..The note states that apart from the facility of e-filing cases could also be filed physically from February 8 this year."In addition to e-filing, facility of category wise Drop Boxes were provided to facilitate the stakeholders to file the cases physically," the note further states..The High Court recently stated that it was the "first in the country" to extend video conferencing facility to all District Hospitals, Juvenile justice Boards, Railway Courts and Family Courts..Madhya Pradesh High Court "first in the country" to extend video conferencing systems to all district hospitals, JJBs, family courts.[Read Press Note]
