Madras High Court seeks ECI response on PIL to educate people against seeking votes on religious, caste lines
A bench of Acting Chief Justice R Mahadevan and Justice Mohammed Shaffiq directed the ECI to file its reply to the PIL within 12 weeks.
The Madras High Court on Monday sought the response of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition filed by a lawyer seeking directions to the poll body to come up with a round the year system to educate citizens against seeking votes on religious and caste lines.
