West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee has nominated astrologist Nimai Banerjee, into the Executive Committee of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (WBNUJS)..According to his website, Nimai Banerjee, has various famous predictions to his credit including the assassination of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, the cyclone in Odisha in 1999, and imposition of military rule in Pakistan in 1999. He also reportedly predicted Mamta Banerjee’s victory in the 2011 Assembly elections. Banerjee is a doctoral degree holder from the East-West University of Holistic Sciences, USA (Mumbai Campus)..Speaking to Bar & Bench, Banerjee said, “I have not been informed about anything by the government. If the post is offered, I will accept it. What is wrong in it? I am a learned man. It is all about the personality of a person and I am famous. If you are nominated to the parliament, will you deny it? I am also a human being and I am doing social service. There is nothing wrong in this and I don’t know why people are making a fuss about this.”.Earlier, the Mamata Banerjee-led government in West Bengal had nominated eminent artist, Suvaprasanna for a seat in the Academic Council of the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (NUJS).
