Manish Sisodia bail plea: Supreme Court says no offence would lie without evidence of bribery; mere pressure groups not enough

The Court said that merely because pressure groups may have called for an excise policy shift, that itself would not imply that corruption or a crime has taken place unless there is an element of bribery involved.

The Supreme Court on Thursday sought to know from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) whether there was any evidence of bribery which could implicate former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia in the Delhi Excise policy scam.
