MCD functioning halted: Mayor Shelly Oberoi urges Supreme Court to allow Corporation to perform Standing Committee duties

Oberoi has contended that the pendency of a case before the Court, which is tied to the election of the Standing Committee members of MCD, has brought the MCD's functioning to a halt.

Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Shelly Oberoi, has moved a petition before the Supreme Court seeking directions so that the functions of the MCD Standing Committee are permitted to be exercised by the MCD Corporation, till the Standing Committee can be properly and legally constituted.
