Mergermarket has released its M&A league tables for the third quarter of 2017. Once again, AZB & Partners has topped the Indian M&A tables in terms of deal value. The firm also recorded the highest number of deals this quarter.
Deal Value
AZB has advised on 44 deals, valued at $21.5 billion. Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas is in second, with 26 deals at $19.08 billion, followed by Trilegal in third, with 24 deals at $16.3 billion. S&R Associates and Vaish Associates complete the top five, with 6 deals at $13.2 billion and 7 deals at $13.05 billion respectively.
The other Indian firms in the top ten are Bharucha & Partners, Khaitan & Co and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. Two international law firms – Slaughter & May and Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian – make it to the top ten as well.

Deal Count
Khaitan has the second most deals after AZB, with 35 this quarter. Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has 34, whereas Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas has 26, followed by Trilegal with 24. Next is J Sagar Associates with 19, followed by HSA Advocates and DSK Legal with 13 each, and Nishith Desai Associates and Desai & Diwanji with 10 each.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas had topped the H1 league tables for 2017, with 16 deals at $16.6 billion, followed closely by AZB with 32 deals at $16.6 billion.
