The Kerala High Court has a sanctioned strength of 32 Judges and 6 more judges posts have been vacant that need to be filled up.

Brij Kishore Dube, Gulab Singh Solanki, Naresh Kumar Gupta, and Anil Kumar Sharma were also appointed as Additional Judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Madhya Pradesh which has a sanctioned strength of 34 Judges had a vacancy of 7 Judges before the appointment of the additional judges.

The announcements came as a move to fill the 273 vacancies existing in 895 judgeships all over India. Minister for Law & Justice, Veerappa Moily had informed parliament earlier that, “The delay in filling up vacancies of judges is one of the main reasons for the accumulation of pending cases.”
