NLSIU grad Saionton Basu leaves Penningtons to join Duane Morris

Penningtons Manches LLP Partner and Co-Head of the India Group, Saionton Basu has resigned from the firm to join Duane Morris as a Partner.

Saionton, who is qualified in England and Wales and India, specialises in corporate M&A and private equity and projects.

He advises international clients who are active in India, including banks, corporations, foreign governments and financial institutions as well as Indian companies doing business in the UK and Europe.

A graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore Saionton initially worked at Amarchand Mangaldas in Delhi before moving to London to work at White & Case. He worked there for over two years before returning to India in 2009 to join Platinum Partners.

In 2011, he returned to London to join Penningtons and was made a Partner in 2012.

On Saionton’s departure, Rustam Dubash, Partner and Head of India Group at Penningtons Manches LLP, commented, “We would like to thank Saionton for his contribution to the firm and wish him success in his new role.”

He added, “This is a busy time for our India group as we continue to reinforce our ties with clients in both India and Europe.”
