NLSIU tops 2020 NIRF Rankings for law schools; top ten largely unchanged

National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore has once again topped the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) rating of top law schools in the country.

As was the case in last year's rankings, National Law University, Delhi, National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) Hyderabad, and Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur are ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.

There has been little change in the top ten this year. National Law University, Jodhpur has climbed into the top five at the expense of West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS) Kolkata, which is ranked sixth.

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is up to seventh, from ninth last year. The other law schools in the top ten are Faculty of Law, Jamia Milia Islamia; Symbiosis Law School, Pune; and Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala.

The NIRF 2020 rankings have listed the top 20 law schools, as opposed to the top 15 last year.

A total of 97 law schools took part in this year's survey conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
