NPAC to hold 14th Annual International Conference on “Recent Advances and Developments in Global Arbitration” on September 1-2

The Nani Palkhivala Arbitration Centre (NPAC) will be holding 14th Annual International Conference on “Recent Advances and Developments in Global Arbitration” on September 1-2, 2023 at New Delhi.

The event will be held from 8 AM to 5.30 PM at Shangri-La’s - Eros Hotel, at Connaught Place, New Delhi.

The conference is divided into an inaugural session, 4 panel discussion sessions and a valedictory session.

The inaugural session will witness addresses by Supreme Court judge, Justice KV Viswanathan, Senior Advocates and directors at NPAC, Arvind P Datar, NL Rajah, and Payal Chawla, Founder at JusContractus and director at NPAC.

The first panel discussion will be held on the theme, "Contentious Issues in Construction Arbitration" and will be presided over by Delhi High Court judge, Justice Navin Chawla.

Other panelists will include Ankit Khushu, Partner at Kachwaha & Partners; Prateek Jain, Partner at Masin Projects and Amba Prasad, Head Legal at Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Construction Division.

The second panel discussion will be on the theme, "Key Issues in Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy" and will be presided over by former Orissa High Court Chief Justice and former judge of the High Courts of Delhi and Punjab and Haryana, Dr. Justice (retired) S Muralidhar.

Other panelists will include Anuja Tiwari, Senior Partner at AZB & Partners; and Payel Chatterjee, Partner at Trilegal.

The third panel discussion will be held on "Dispatches from the Frontiers of International Arbitration" and will be presided over by Delhi High Court judge, Justice Yashwant Varma.

Other panelists will include V Niranjan, Barrister, One Essex Court Chambers; Mark McNeill, Partner, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP; Chintan Chandrachud, Barrister, Brick Court Chambers; and Divyam Agarwal, Partner at JSA Legal.

The fourth panel discussion will be held on the theme, "Future of Arbitration in the Era of Artificial Intelligence" and will be presided over by Tejas Karia, Partner, Head – Arbitration at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.

Other panelists will include Alipak Banerjee, Nishith Desai Associates; Anushka Sharda, Partner at Khaitan & Co; Atul Sharma, Managing Partner at Link Legal; and Senior Advocate Zal Andhyarujina, who is also part of the Fountain Court Chambers.

The valedictory session will feature addresses by Senior Advocate NL Rajah, Padma Shri Dr TK Viswanathan who formerly served as the Union Law Secretary and the Secretary General of the 15th Lok Sabha, and Shreyas Jayasimha, Co- Founder at Aarna Law LLP India who is also a director of NPAC.
