<p>The Central Government has notified that an additional judge each of the Calcutta High Court and the Himachal Pradesh High has been made permanent High Court judges. </p>.<p>Two notifications to this effect were issued on Monday.</p>.<p>Following these notifications, Justice <strong>Abhijit Gangopadhyay </strong>has been made a permanent judge of the Calcutta High Court and Justice <strong>Jyotsna Rewal Dua</strong> has been made a permanent judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.</p>.<p>Justice Gangopadhyay was elevated from the Bar and appointed as an additional judge of the Calcutta High Court in May 2018, after having been <a href="https://www.barandbench.com/news/collegium-resolutions-five-advocates-recommended-elevation-calcutta-high-court" rel="nofollow">recommended twice</a> by the Supreme Court Collegium i.e. in May 2017 and March 2018. </p>.<p>Justice Dua was elevated from the Bar and <a href="https://www.barandbench.com/news/centre-appointment-advocates-anoop-chitkara-jyotsna-rewal-dua-himachal-pradesh-high-court" rel="nofollow">appointed as an additional judge</a> of the Himachal Pradesh High Court in May 2019, a month after the <a href="https://www.barandbench.com/news/three-advocates-recommended-judges-himachal-pradesh-high-court" rel="nofollow">Collegium approved the proposal</a> to appoint her as an additional judge. </p>.<p>The Supreme Court Collegium had <a href="https://www.barandbench.com/news/supreme-court-collegium-approves-appointment-of-addl-judges-as-permanent-judges-at-calcutta-himachal-pradesh-and-punjab-haryana-hcs" rel="nofollow">approved their appointment</a> as permanent judges earlier this month. </p>.<p><strong>Read the Notifications:</strong></p>
