Parliament Security Breach accused claimed PM Modi was a proclaimed offender: Delhi Police tell Court

Four persons arrested over the security breach in parliament on December 13 and booked under under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) had put up social media posts showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a 'proclaimed offender', the Delhi Police told a sessions court on Thursday. .Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Atul Srivastava referred to some posts on social media and pamphlets prepared by the accused wherein they had declared Prime Minister Modi a 'missing' person and had declared a reward from Swiss Bank for finding him."He has been shown like a proclaimed offender," the APP said.Additional Sessions Judge Hardeep Kaur after hearing the Police and the counsel for the accused, remanded the four to police custody for seven days..Since the accused were unrepresented, they were provided legal aid counsel.During the Lok Sabha proceedings on Wednesday, two persons, identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, were reportedly seen entering the chamber from the visitors' gallery with canisters that were emitting smoke. Both were arrested by Delhi Police.Two more persons, Amol Shinde and Neelam, were arrested from outside the parliament where they were reportedly protesting with yellow smoke.APP Srivastava informed the Court on Thursday that the case was registered on a complaint made by Deputy Director, Security of the Parliament.Delhi police further informed that the accused had created a cavity in their shoes to carry the gas cannisters inside the parliament building. The police sought remand of all four accused for 15 days. To support their case, APP Srivastava referred to the social media posts made by the accused. Further, the APP underlined that the accused had created a group called 'Bhagat Singh Fan Club' and that they bought the shoes from Lucknow and the gas cannisters from Mumbai. In order to take the accused to Mumbai and Lucknow for investigation, the prosecution sought remand. The counsel for the accused argued that four or five days would be sufficient to undertake the exercise.After hearing the parties, the Court remanded all four accused to seven days of police custody.
