Person occupying land gratuitously does not acquire title over it: Jammu and Kashmir High Court

"A person holding a premises gratuitously and whose initial entry in the premises is questionable, would not acquire any right or interest in the property," the Court added.

The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh recently observed that merely because a person has been allowed to occupy certain land gratuitously for some time, he would not acquire any title over such property [M/S M. R. Industries V/s State of J&K and Ors.].
