After a video clip from the web series recently went viral on social media, an advocate lodged a complaint against Singh alleging that he had used insulting and derogatory language against women.

Chandigarh Police then booked Singh under Section 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 67A of the Information Technology Act for speaking sexually explicit language against women.

Subsequently, Singh moved Chandigarh District Court with a plea seeking protection from arrest.

Sessions Judge HS Grewal on May 26 denied anticipatory bail to Singh, observing that words used in the video clip were disturbing, derogatory and insulted the entire women class. The Court observed that it was important to find out the author of the words.

Singh then approached the High Court against the same which granted him relief today.
