Kerala High Court judge, Justice PD Rajan is mired in controversy after a Circle Inspector has raised some grave allegations against the sitting judge..According to ToI, Circle Inspector of Mavelikkara circle, P Sreekumar has made a written complaint to Chief Justice of Kerala High Court and the Chief Justice of India stating that Justice Rajan abused and threatened him and tried to slap him for registering a case against the judge’s relatives..The complaint was received by the Kerala High Court some time in June this year while the alleged incident dates back to November 2016..According to the complaint by Sreekumar, the judge wanted him to drop a case against one Bhavith Kumar and his father Sasidharan, who are his relatives. The case pertained to assault of a security guard of a district hospital by Bhavith Kumar and Sasidharan..The report states that the judge summoned the police officer in his chamber where he threatened and abused him..“He [Justice Rajan] shouted at me that he would treat me like a dog and will tear off my uniform and throw away my official cap. Hon: Justice used filthy language and even attempted to slap me. Hon: Justice again wrongly alleged that, me with other four police personnel assaulted his brother and denied his previous instructions to exclude his relatives from this case. He also alleged that the case was registered after collecting bribe form somebody,” the complaint states..Later, Inspector General of Kochi Range had to go to the judge’s chamber to relieve Sreekumar..This is not the first time Justice Rajan is courting controversy. In 2015, he was in news when he summoned two police constables and ordered them to write an imposition. Their fault was that they failed to recognise the judge when he was on a temple visit and refused to summon the judge’s wife from a temporary clinic set up in temple premises, where she was a doctor.
