The Punjab and Haryana High Court has barred judges in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh from using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and others to write judgments or conduct legal research. .The High Court communicated the decision today to the District & Sessions Judges in the two State and the Union Territory."Hon'ble the Chief Justice has been pleased to ask you to direct the Judicial Officers working under your control not to use Artificial Intelligence tools including but not limited to Chat GPT, Gemini, Copilot, Meta etc. for writing of judgements and legal research.
