Not Out (for now): Rajasthan HC stays proceedings in FIR filed against Hardik Pandya

Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya has obtained interim relief from the Rajasthan High Court in the case filed against him following his remarks on the ‘Koffee with Karan’ show earlier this year..The Jodhpur Bench of the Rajasthan High Court on Friday stayed the proceedings in relation to the FIR filed against Pandya for his sexist comments on the show..Following the airing of the show and the ensuing controversy, an FIR was lodged at Luni Police Station, Jodhpur by one Devaram Meghwal. The FIR cited Sections 153(A), 292, 295(A), 504 of the Indian Penal Code, Section 67 of the Information and Technology Act, 2000 and Section 3 (1) (u) and 3(1) (v) of the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989..Pandya subsequently approached the Rajasthan High Court for quashing of this FIR..On Friday, the Single Judge Bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Garg issued notice to the State, returnable by six weeks.
