Ration Scam: Calcutta High Court stays single-judge order forming SIT to probe attack on ED officers

Single-judge Justice Jay Sengupta had last month constituted an SIT comprising of officers from the State Police and also the ED to investigate the case, however, the central agency has sought a CBI probe in the case.

The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday stayed a single-judge's order by which a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to investigate the brutal attack on Enforcement Directorate officers in Sandeshkhali region of West Bengal while they were about to raid the house of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader [Enforcement Directorate vs State of West Bengal].
