Reserved category candidate who scores more than General category candidate should be appointed to unreserved category: Supreme Court
If candidates, who belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or OBC, have secured higher marks or are more meritorious, they must be considered against the seats meant for unreserved candidates.
The Supreme Court on Thursday held that a reserved category candidate who scores more than the last ranked person in the general category, should be considered for appointment to general category pool so that the remaining seats in the reserved category can filled by another deserving candidate from such category [BSNL vs Sandeep Choudhary].
