SCBA Social Justice Team provides free legal aid to those affected by North East Delhi riots; about 46 families helped so far

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) 'Social Justice Team' has galvanised efforts to provide interim relief and free legal aid to the families of riot affected areas of North East Delhi.

In furtherance of this initiative, Senior Advocate Dushyant Dave, President of SCBA and Senior Member CU Singh have donated Rs 15 lakhs and 10 lakhs respectively.

Following the call to aid, many national and international donor agencies have also expressed their willingness to donate through the SCBA, states a release issued by the SCBA.

Moreover, as of Saturday, the Association intimated that it was able to mobilise enough funds to help about 46 families affected by the riots.

In the release issued on behalf of the SCBA, Secretary Ashok Arora also expressed thanks to the Social Justice Team. He commented,

"My salute to 'Social Justice Team', including Shobha Gupta, Pranav Arora, Ajay Singh, Mary Mitzy, Nayantara, Alpana Malik, Nanita & Afsha Paracha for working tirelessly and spending more than two hundred hours in twenty days to help the families in getting compensation and providing free Legal Aid. Special thanks to Meenesh Dubey, Alka Agarwal, Upendra Naryan, Prerna, Reena Rao & the entire EC SCBA for providing guidance and support.

We once again appeal to Honourable members to donate generously to support this noble mission."
