SCBA Elections: Six lawyers in race for President's post

Six lawyers including one woman lawyer are contesting for the post of the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) in the upcoming polls to elect the Executive Committee of the bar body..The six lawyers who are in the race for post of President are:- Senior Advocate Adish C Aggarwala (incumbent President);- Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal;- Senior Advocate Priya Hingorani;- Senior Advocate Pradeep Kumar Rai;- Advocate Neeraj Srivastava;- Advocate Tripurari Ray..The polls, which would also elect the Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, will be held on May 16. .Sibal is contesting for the post after more than two decades. He last served as the President of SCBA in 2001-02.He has served twice before that as well - in 1995–1996, 1997–1998.Incumbent President Dr. Aggarwala had last year defeated his nearest rival Senior Counsel Dushyant Dave to become the President. Hingorani has previously served as the Vice President of SCBA and was the youngest to serve in that role. She was also the first woman to be the Secretary of SCBA.
