
United Breweries Limited (UBL) has announced that its Chief Legal & Compliance Officer, Shelly Kohli has resigned from the company with effect from October 1, 2025, after more than three years at the company.
Kohli will move to Heineken to take up the role of Regional Legal Director for Asia-Pacific (APAC), effective January 1, 2026.
She joined UBL in July 2022 as Chief Legal & Compliance Officer, overseeing the company’s legal, compliance and governance functions.
Before UBL, Kohli held senior positions at leading multinationals. She was Head Legal Counsel for Beauty & Personal Care & Home Care at Unilever, where she managed legal strategy for brands including Lifebuoy, Lux, Pepsodent, Dove, Lakme and Surf Excel. Prior to that, she was Assistant General Counsel – South Asia, Middle East & North Africa at Levi Strauss & Co, and Senior Counsel (Legal & Compliance) for GE Energy Management, South Asia.
She also worked with CPA Global, Crawford Bayley & Co, Wadia Ghandy & Co and Trilegal.
Kohli holds an LL.M. in Corporate Law from New York University School of Law. She graduated with an LL.B. from the University of Mumbai.
The UBL Board of Directors approved her resignation on September 5, 2025, on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
