Ashutosh Gambhir

The Coordination Committee of All-District Court Bar Associations of Delhi has called for a strike at the Tis Hazari Courts on May 8 and at all the district courts in Delhi on May 9.

The strike is being called to protest against the alleged false implication of the President, Honorary Secretary and 50 members of the Delhi Bar Association in a case at the behest of a judicial officer Prashant Kumar.

The case in question has been registered by a lady advocate who alleges that she was manhandled and groped by a group of advocates (who are members of the Delhi Bar Association) at the Tis Hazari Courts complex.

The lady lawyer also alleged that she was threatened by the advocates and sought protection.

The notice for the strike further states that the lawyers have resolved to boycott the court of Prashant Kumar, ASJ (Tis Hazari Courts).

The notice for the strike is undersigned by NC Gupta Chairman Delhi Bar Association and General Secretary Dhir Singh Kasana along with Spokesperson Jaiveer Singh Chauhan.
