The judge appeared before the collegium on Monday evening to explain his position.According to ToI, the judge said the media quoted selectively from his speech to stoke controversy.The collegium was unconvinced with his explanation and asked him to be circumspect about his conduct, both inside and outside the court, and also said that every statement made by a judge must be in sync with the dignity of office so that the faith of people in judiciary remains unaffected..The comments made by the sitting judge has led to demands that he be impeached and judicial work be withdrawn from him in the meantime.Members of Parliament (MPs) led by Kapil Sibal have submitted an impeachment motion to the Rajya Sabha Secretary General.The motion, signed by 55 MPs, is expected to be addressed during the ongoing winter session of the parliament.
