The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of advocate Praveen Kumar Giri as a judge of the Allahabad High Court..The decision was taken by the Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna on December 22."The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 22nd December, 2024 has approved the proposal for appointment of Shri Praveen Kumar Giri, Advocate, as a Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad," the resolution said..As on December 1, the Allahabad High Court is functioning with 81 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 160, a vacancy position of 79. .[Read Resolution]
