The Supreme Court Collegium on Wednesday recommended the transfer of Chhattisgarh High Court judge Justice Arvind Singh Chandel to the Patna High Court..In its resolution uploaded on the official website of the top court, the Collegium partially acceded to his request to not be transferred to the Madras High Court, as was originally proposed.On March 15, the Collegium had proposed the transfer of Justice Chandel to the Madras High Court. By a communication of March 17, he requested reconsideration of the same, preferring a transfer to the High Courts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Allahabad, Punjab and Haryana or Delhi instead. .A judge of the Supreme Court conversant with the affairs of the High Court of Chhattisgarh was consulted, along with the Patna High Court Chief Justice.The Collegium ultimately held that it cannot reconsider the proposal in full.
