The Supreme Court of India has conferred senior designation on retired High Court judges including Justices Govind Mathur, Ravi K Deshpande, Dama Seshadri Naidu, Vineet Kothari and ZA Haq among others. .The decision was taken by the apex court at a full court meeting held on May 20, Friday. Justice Govind Mathur had served as judge of Rajasthan High Court and as Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court. Justice Ravi K Deshpande served as judge of the Bombay High Court where he served for 11 years before demitting office in November 2020. Justice ZA Haq also served as judge of Bombay High Court from 2013 to 2021. Justice Dama Seshadri Naidu who hails from Andhra Pradesh (AP) was first elevated as judge of the AP High Court. He later served as judge of Kerala High Court before he was transferred to Bombay High Court in March 2019.He resigned as judge in August 2021 to resume law practice. .Justice Vineet Kothari served as judge of Rajasthan, Madras and Karnataka High Courts and as acting Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court. .Note: This is not an exhaustive list.
