Supreme Court declines urgent hearing of plea for VVPAT verification before vote counting

The Court had in the morning agreed to list the matter for hearing on Wednesday. The decision was later changed after Election Commission entered appearance and told the Court that its 2019 judgment is being followed.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused urgent listing of a plea praying that verification of Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) should be done before the counting of votes [Rakesh Kumar vs Union of India].
