After months of hearing the matter, a three-judge Bench of the Supreme Court today expressed its inclination to refer the much debated Sabarimala Temple entry case to a Constitution Bench.

A Bench of Justices Dipak Misra, R Banumathi and Ashok Bhushan today told the parties “we will deliver a judgment and refer the matter to a Constitution Bench”.

The Court then proceeded to dictate the order reserving its judgment on the issue of whether the matter should be referred to Constitution Bench or not.

Earlier in the hearing today, a slew of intervenors appeared before the Bench seeking impleadment. Different intervenors raises different grounds, some opposite and some supporting the petition.

The Court allowed all the impleadment applications and gave the intervenors liberty to give their written submissions.
