Supreme Court seeks response from Central government, BCI, J&K High Court on plea to establish Bar Council for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh

The petition also prayed for directions to the Supreme Court's administrative side to issue proximity cards to lawyers from J&K and Ladakh so that they can appear before the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court on Friday sought the response of the Bar Council of the India, the Central government and the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in a plea filed by an advocate to set up a bar council for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh [Supriya Pandita vs Union of India and ors].
