Supreme Court directs setting up of Coordination Committee to address issues relating to Virtual hearings, e-filing etc.

The Coordination Committee will consist of representatives from the Supreme Court registry as well as from the SCBA and the SCAORA.

Bar & Bench

A competent authority of the Supreme Court has directed for the setting up of a coordination committee with representatives from the registry, the SCBA, and the SCAORA to address various issues relating to virtual hearings.

A communication to this effect has been sent to the Presidents of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association (SCAORA).

The committee will comprise of Registry officials along with two representatives nominated by the SCBA and SCAORA. It will be set up with the specific purpose of consultation on certain issues.

These broader issues will touch upon technical issues, with a focus on video conferencing hearings, e-filing, the listing of matters, access and circulation, health and safety, volunteers, helplines etc.
