The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a petition by one G Sarvan Kumar seeking his appointment as a High Court judge [G Sarvan Kumar v. The Registrar, Telangana High Court]..The matter was listed for the first time today before a Bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai and Justice Vinod Chandran..The Court flatly refused to entertain the plea, terming it a mockery of the system. It also questioned whether the petitioner was calling on the Bench to summon a Collegium meeting to discuss his plea."Do you want us to call the first three judges of this court here and hold a collegium meeting now? ... You are making a mockery of the system!" CJI Gavai said.The Court further hinted that it would impose costs on the petitioner for filing such a petition."When have we heard petitions regarding the appointment of a High Court judge?
