Continuing the trend of recent law firm promotions, Trilegal has now promoted two of its Counsel – Ashish Bhan and Jafar Alam – to partnership, effective April 1.

Both Bhan and Alam are part of the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice at Delhi.

Bhan, who holds an LL.M. from University College, London, has been with Trilegal since 2012. His primary areas of focus are commercial litigation and arbitration. He is also a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Delhi High Court Bar Association and the International Bar Association.

Alam did his LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, and his LL.M. from University of Chicago Law School. He joined the firm in 2014, before which he worked in the chambers of Senior Advocate Amit Sibal. Prior to that, he worked for Centre for Policy Research and Wadia Ghandy.

Commenting on the promotions, Sitesh Mukherjee, Partner and Head of the Disputes Practice at Trilegal, said,

“We are pleased to welcome Ashish and Jafar to the partnership. Over the years, both have made their mark at Trilegal through exceptional work ethic, commitment to client service and are true ambassadors of the firm’s values. The two new partners will help to lead the significant growth that we have witnessed in the Dispute resolution practice at Trilegal, both in terms of number of matters as well as their variety. We wish them the very best in their journey hereon.”

With these promotions, the firm now has thirty-eight partners across its five offices in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon and Hyderabad.

Last week, both Khaitan & Co and AZB & Partners announced partnership-level promotions.
